PalaDB is a padel racket database with reviews written by real players. This page explains, in simple words, what information we collect, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
PalaDB is run from Cyprus. We are the "data controller" for the personal data described here. Questions? Email us at hello@paladb.com.
What we collect
- Account details — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and a user ID.
- Your reviews — the display name you choose, your ratings, pros and cons, and the player details you add (level, playing side, style, age range, gender, rackets used).
- Player test answers — answers you give in the AI Racket Finder, used only to suggest rackets.
- Technical data — basic data your browser sends (like IP address and device type), needed to run and protect the site.
Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- To run your account and show your reviews — to provide the service you asked for.
- To keep the site safe and stop spam or abuse — our legitimate interest.
- To measure how the site is used with optional cookies — only with your consent.
We never sell your data and we don't show personalised ads.
What others can see
Reviews are public. Anyone can see the display name and player details attached to a review, but never your email address. Choose a display name you are happy to share.
Who we share it with
- Hosting and database providers that store the site and its data for us.
- Google, to sign you in.
- AI providers, to process player test answers and translate reviews. We don't send your name or email.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU. When they do, they are bound by safeguards approved by the EU, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
Essential cookies (and similar browser storage) keep you signed in, remember your language and save your cookie choice. The site can't work without them.
Optional cookies would help us understand how visitors use the site. We only use them if you click "Accept all". You can change your choice at any time:
How long we keep it
We keep your account and reviews until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Technical logs are kept for a short time for security, then removed.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- see a copy of your data,
- correct it,
- delete it (you can also delete your own reviews on your Account page),
- limit or object to how we use it,
- send it to you in a portable format,
- withdraw your consent at any time.
Email hello@paladb.com and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus or your local data protection authority.
Children
PalaDB is not meant for children under 16. Please don't create an account if you are under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
